Based on the unique nature of virus vectors used for gene-based therapies, careful design and often customization of test methods is necessary. In this presentation, we discuss two virus-based gene delivery platforms – adenoassociated virus (AAV) and lentivirus (LV) – focusing on the development, validation, and implementation of titration methods used to measure functional titer. We will review factors to consider for method selection and discuss strategies to accelerate method development and validation.
