Overview: Customs investigations are conducted by Special Agents of the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, or CBP officials with appropriate authority. Typically, companies will receive a formal notice of investigation and depending on the results of the investigation civil or criminal penalties are possible. You will learn how to recognize and prepare for civil and criminal Customs investigations, recognize when they may be underway, how to deal with investigators, and how to mitigate possible penalty actions.
